‘Ping Pong’ by George Gendi

Described as ‘marital pingpong’ by Gendi, this ink drawn animation is a beautiful portrait of married life.

‘His Mother’s Voice’ by Dennis Tupicoff

Another animadoc classic!

On 25 April 1995 16 year old Matthew Easdale was shot in Brisbane. His mother was interviewed on the radio. Using rotoscoped animation the film presents the story in two very different ways.

There are several clips of the film on Dennis’ website at http://dennistupicoff.com, and the film is included on the Animating Reality DVD.

‘Abuelas’ by Afarin Eghbal

From director Afarin’s website:

“In a small apartment in Buenos Aires, an old woman eagerly awaits the birth of her grandchild and all the joys of becoming a grandmother. However, horrific circumstances mean that she will be forced to wait for over 30 years. Using real-life testimonials this animated documentary raises issues of memory, repression and loss”.
